Mysore Ashtanga Classes
Traditional. Transformational. Personalized.

 

Mysore Ashtanga Classes are appropriate for ALL LEVELS of  Yoga practitioner, including complete beginners. Students practice along side fellow practitioners of all levels, but are provided with individual instruction and guidance from the teacher. Students practice at their own pace and may arrive at any time within the window of times listed below. Students should expect to start out with practice lasting 30-60 minutes, evolving over time into a 90 minute practice.

When we practice Mysore Ashtanga:

Monday - Thursday AM 5:30am - 10:00am

  • Doors open at 5:00am for students with an established Mysore practice

  • All students may arrive ANYTIME between 5:30am and 8:30am to start practice.

  • Students must be out of final resting pose by 10:00am

Tuesday - Thursday PM 5:00pm - 7:00pm

  • Doors open at 5:00pm

  • All students may arrive ANYTIME between 5:00pm and 6:00pm to start practice. Doors will be closed at 6:15pm.

  • Students must be out of final resting pose by 7:00pm

Sunday 7:00am - 10:00am

  • Doors open at 7:00am

  • All students may arrive ANYTIME between 7:00am and 8:30am to start practice.

  • Students must be out of final resting pose by 10:00am

Led Classes

Led Classes are offered as a compliment to a steady Mysore practice. Students practice in unison following the traditional Sanskrit count and cadence of the teacher. FULL PRIMARY may not be appropriate for complete beginners to Yoga. HALF PRIMARY is appropriate for all levels.

Full Primary Series

  • Friday Mornings 5:30am - 7:15am

  • Strong flowing class that includes Sun Salutations, standing postures, balance postures, seated postures with strength and stamina building transitions, arm balances, back-bends, finishing postures and inversions.

  • Room is heated to 78 degrees

  • May not be appropriate for complete beginners to Yoga asana practices

Community Classes

We invite all in the community to join us for an Introduction to Ashtanga Yoga class.

The class is an Introduction to the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga and is open to all levels of practitioner, including complete beginners. Modifications and props will be provided to support any students who require them. We have Yoga mats available on a first come first serve basis, as well as complimentary hand towels and props. Students are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and come with a sense of excitement and desire to transform.

Intro to Ashtanga - Community Classes

  • Saturday mornings from 9:00am - 10:15am

  • Comfortable flowing pace

  • Modified practice with plenty of instruction and support

  • $7.00 class fee donated to two scholarship programs

  • Appropriate and recommended for beginners
